Variety was reporting that Warner Bros. was developing a live action/CG feature film starring Marvin the Martian back in 2008.
Marvin was created by Chuck Jones and made his debut in a 1948 Looney Tunes cartoon Haredevil Hare along with his Martian dog, K-9 although he is unnamed in this film. The character earlier known as Commander X-2 was often set to blow up planet Earth, only to be foiled by Bugs Bunny.
Producer Steve Crystal developed the pitch as a Christmas story, with Marvin coming to Earth to destroy Christmas but being prevented from doing so when he’s trapped in a gift box.
This time Alex Zamm (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2) who has posted test footage from in-development Hong Kong Phooey live action movie also has posted footage from a more-promising, but shelved, Marvin the Martian hybrid movie on his Vimeo page.

To me, living in 2010 seems like the future (well a bit anyway), and some of the things people dreamt of in years gone by have indeed come to pass. We have iPods which contain all our music, videos and data like the PADDs in Star Trek, have unlocked parts of the human genome, cloned livestock and created primitive artificial life. And while we don't have jet-packs, teleporters or the ability to travel to Mars, current technology hasn't don't too badly on the whole.
We love our technology, all sleek, thin and mobile, full of wafer-thin elements that can pass data at massive rates, wrapped up in shiny and lovingly-designed bits of kit. The ‘aesthetic of the...

Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment will team up to develop a big-screen version of “Looney Tunes” character Marvin the Martian, according to Variety.
Marvin was created by Chuck Jones and made his debut in “Haredevil Hare” in 1948. In several “Looney Tunes” episodes he has tried to destroy Earth, but his plans are consistently interrupted by Bugs Bunny. He also appeared as referee in 1996’s “Space Jam.”
According to the producers, the film will be a mix of live action and CGI. As far as the main story line is concerned, it will follow Marvin as he travels to Earth to destroy Christmas.
Considering the disappointing box office career of 2003’s “Looney Tunes: Back in Action,” I’m not so sure it’s a good idea to bring an animated Looney Tune back into the real world on the big screen. Okay, Marvin will be CGI, but still... What do you think?...
