Having had no previous theatrical distribution in the USA, this film's initial telecast in Los Angeles Monday 24 April 1950, as it lead off Triple Feature Theatre, hosted by Art Baker, on KECA (Channel 7), also marked its USA premiere; it first aired in New York City Tuesday 1 August 1950 on WNBT (Channel 4).
Diana Dors has her first credited film role as the maid of female lead Greta Gynt. Gynt had begun appearing in British films ten years earlier, promoted as Britain's answer to Hollywood star Jean Harlow, the original platinum blonde. Dors, still a natural brunette in this film, would by 1953 be blonded and promoted as Britain's answer to reigning Hollywood platinum blonde star Marilyn Monroe.
