Interestingly, the 49-year-old actor playing his father, Edgar Barrier, was artificially aged for his role to match her instead of trying to make her look younger.
Although the new union local is formed along the Brooklyn waterfront, and this is what is depicted as the setting for the film, Pier 85 is on the west side of midtown Manhattan on the Hudson River, next to where the U.S.S. Intrepid Museum is.
