When Basil Rathbone hears an intruder (Peter Lorre) in his home, he gets up to investigate and grabs a sword. While investigating, he makes one swing at a candelabra cutting all of the candles in half. He does the same thing in his duel with Danny Kaye in The Court Jester
The whole episode is a trove of cinematic references, one of those being a spoof of the exchange between Hubert Hawkins and Ravenhurst " Get it? Got it. Good."
