In fixing Joe's belt, she skips a belt loop; in the next scene the belt is worn correctly.

When Cindy Lou is first seen walking down the street in Chicago, a woman wearing a pale yellow skirt with three horizontal stripes near the hem is alone behind her and then passes her. It then cuts to Joe evading MPs by going down the fire escape. Then it cuts back to Cindy Lou, and the woman with the yellow skirt is behind her again, but this time is walking with another woman.

When Joe is taking Carmen to Masonville, after they jump off the train and Joe is trying to tie her feet, although he is facing away from her and nobody is watching them, Carmen quickly pulls her dress down. Dorothy Dandridge was trying to save the take.

There is no Goof; any woman in public would pull down her dress in that situation.

Husky Miller and entourage are shown arriving in Chicago from North Carolina on a Santa Fe train. Chicago is the farthest east that ATSF ever went.

The story takes place circa 1944, but all of the women's fashions and hairstyles are strictly 1954; when Carmen and Frankie are talking outside the Chicago Pawn Shop, 1950s-era automobiles passing by can clearly be seen reflected in the showcase window.

In Chicago, Carmen goes to Husky Miller's gym, where the sign at the door says "Admission $1.00". When she goes inside and pays, she drops a single coin on the table, prompting the man there to say "You're two bits shy", which is an impossibility.
