Baron von Eisson has never left his ancient castle in Austria and does not intend ever to do so. However, the baron is hard up, the castle is falling into ruin and the wages are unpaid. Then comes a letter. If he will go to Berlin, his fortunes will be saved. The baron starts to make fantastic preparations for his long journey to Berlin, where his black sheep brother has disgraced the family by becoming a successful businessman.
