Leadville Gunslinger finds Allan Lane once more a US Marshal investigating a gang of outlaws operating from a town called Leadville. They're paying particular attention to rancher Eddy Waller and his neighbor Richard Crane who is planning to marry Waller's niece Elaine Riley. Both have something on their property that they want badly and aren't squeamish at all in what they have to do to get it.
Grant Withers, Roy Barcroft playing a dual role, and I. Stanford Jolley all are screen villains of impeccable credentials. Withers who usually is a thuggish villain plays a banker here. But bankers and villainy go hand in hand in B westerns.
Eddy Waller appeared in this series of westerns for Republic that Lane starred in, but not ever as a traditional sidekick. He was either the guy in trouble or eager to lend a helping to Lane in the pursuit of justice. I haven't found one yet where they rode the trail together.
Leadville Gunslinger should satisfy Rocky Lane's legion of front row kid fans.

I have been a Western movie addict for my entire life, even getting to work in Westerns as an actor and stuntman myself. Rocky Lane was one of my all-time favorite Western stars. Allan "Rocky" Lane was truly one of the greatest Action stars of all! His films, from the first to the last, were marked by some of the best fight scenes ever filmed. His riding was second to none, and he was a much better actor than he was ever given credit for. This movie is just one in a long line of Westerns Rocky made for Republic Studios, but it is representative of them all. For sheer physical impressiveness, riding, fighting, & gunmanship, Rocky Lane had no equal. My wife says that he was the handsomest man she ever saw (her exact comment was "God...look at the shoulders on that man!" If action is your thing, then Rocky is your man!
