Both Negrete and Infante refused for a long time to work together. When they finally agreed, Infante was afraid to sing because he believed that his voice could be overwhelmed for the operatic, strong and beautiful voice of Negrete, who was afraid to act besides Infante, probably the best actor in Latin America ever. The result was however, excellent. Ismael Rodriguez and Carlos Orellana developed a mastered screenplay, Rodriguez directed them carefully (and obtained the best performance of Negrete ever).
This is the only movie in which the two Mexican cinema icons Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete appear together, sharing screen time. They both appear in Reportaje (1953), but never in the same shot.
