Contrary to common belief, the long staircase in this film is NOT the same one used in Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy's Oscar-winning short, The Music Box (1932). However, it is in the same Silver Lake district of Los Angeles, about two miles away.
The staircase has 147 steps. The area around it has not changed much since the 1940s.
