The escapees finally reach the beach after hiking through the jungle. Their clothing, although made to look torn, shows no signs of soil despite various fist fights, plunging into quicksand, falling in water, pulling themselves from the river, and making their way through dense undergrowth, nor does the clothing have threadbare or torn fabric in the area of the knee or staining along the bottom leg of the trouser.
At the beginning, the large dripping splotches of moisture (or whatever it is) on the inside of Verne's cell door change from shot to shot.
At one point, Verne (Clark Gable) escapes by jumping out a window into the water. A short while later, on land, he pulls a out a Bible from inside his shirt to check a map printed inside. As he flips through the pages, there is no sign whatsoever that the book got wet. The unprotected Bible should have shown signs of water immersion (damp edges, soggy paper, etc.), but it appears to be perfectly dry.
If the characters were really at sea for five days with little water and no shade from the brutal sun, their faces would be extremely sunburned and their lips would be cracked. They would barely be able to speak in more than a hoarse whisper, let alone have strength to argue and fight.
