The film was shot (in Cinecittà) with both Italian and Spanish actors, all appearing in both versions. All Spanish actors are bubbed in the Italian version and vice-versa. The Italian version was released in Italy in July 1940. The Spanish version of the film, known as "El nacimiento de Salomé" was released in Spain in March 1941.
