Final film of Charlotte Susa.
Heinz Rühmann also starred before in So ein Flegel (1934) and Wenn wir alle Engel wären (1936) and later in The Punch Bowl (1944), each ones also adaptations of a Heinrich Spoerl novel.
This is the only movie in which Heinz Rühmann is doing the Hitler salute, in the scene at 19th minute in which a talkative woman refuses to pay and claims to have good contacts with the Nazi Party to which Rühmann's character Hermann Knittel replies with "Oh well - Heil Hitler". This is very uncommon since the Nazi movie policy was trying to avoid Nazi element in pure entertainment movie. In later version the scene was dubbed over by saying "He needs it" and without the salute. He did another salute at 1 hour 2 minutes when visiting a state official.
