When testing the new plane in a dive, it appears to be making a vertical dive, but it is obvious from the cloud formations, a horizontal image was rotated 90 degrees to appear to be a vertical image.
When the trainees arrive at Pensacola, there are several shots of planes taxiing and flying. In the background there are mountains, which do not exist around Pensacola. Rather, the scenes were filmed at North Island Naval Air Station, San Diego CA and Point Loma with the mountainous area in the background.
