The "oil" that gushes out of the water pump and into Moe's face hit him while his eyes were open and he later required medical attention.
After the boys marry the sisters Moe says that now a set of quintuplets would make everything perfect, Curly says that they will just honeymoon in Canada. This is a reference to the Dionne quintuplets who were born in Corbiel Canada in 1934 and were the first known set of quintuplets to survive infancy.
The "Free Car" the crooks are driving is a 1929 or 1930 Packard.
