Ratan (1944) was a big breakthrough film for the renowned Indian music director Naushad Ali as many of its film songs became super-hits for him and he emerged as a major popular music director of his generation from then on.
In the early 40's working in the movie industry was considered low and the famous music director 'Naushad' was introduced as a tailor to the future bride. Ironically his songs from the movie Rattan were played by the baraat.
