Plenty of actors have played Abraham Lincoln well, but the actor still most associated with the role is Raymond Massey, who starred in Robert E. Sherwood’s Pulitzer Prizewinning play. The film version was not a hit, as Sherwood’s aim is to capture the melancholy, even the foreboding, of a man who was a natural for politics. In this reading Lincoln tries to resist his ‘call to greatness’ knowing he’s letting himself in for an unhappy life. The Warner Archive’s restoration retrieves the film from old 16mm prints, restoring James Wong Howe’s handsome cinematography.

London, Apr 0: World's oldest romantic novelist Ida Pollock has released her 124th book at age of 105.

Pollock has written 123 books full of adventure, passion and heartbreak including White Heat, Mountain of Dreams, Love in the Afternoon and The Man Who Came Back.

Her stories, including 70 for Mills and Boon, have sold millions of copies in over 70 years as a writer but she has avoided the limelight by using 10 pseudonyms.

According to the Mirror, she has only written a handful of novels under her own name.

Pen names she has used include Susan Barrie, Pamela Kent, Averil Ives, Rose Burghley, Mary Whistler and.

For the tenth edition of Film Art: An Introduction, David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson are partnering with Criterion to present Connect Film, an hour-long set of twenty videos on various aspects of filmmaking addressed in the now-classic textbook.
