Stan climbs out of his window in order to send himself a telegram. The window blinds are a third of the way down on the external shots but fully up on the internal shots.
When Ollie looks for Stan's number in the telephone directory, it's near the front of the book, but the second time he looks for it. it's towards the back.
At 12:55 the Maitre 'D motions Oliver and Stan to sit on the chairs of the nightclub. Reaches over and grabs the "Reserved" sign on the table. A few seconds later the boys are seated and the "Reserved" sign is still on the table. Matre 'd again grabs it and takes it away.
From where they were standing, it would have been impossible for the laughing crowd to have actually seen Ollie at the phone booth.
