According to an item in the March, 1923, issue of American Cinematographer Magazine, this was one of several productions to do location work in Truckee, California, during late 1922.
This version of Buck looks nothing like his description in the original novel. In the book, he is a cross between a St. Bernard and a Scotch shepherd dog, and looks like a large wolf.
