- TriviaFollowing the successful telecasts of Othello (1922) and The Eagle (1925), New York City's WJZ (Channel 7), began a weekly series of Sunday evening silent film feature presentations, shown more or less in their entirety, which aired intermittently for the next twelve months. This feature was initially broadcast Sunday 9 January 1949, and, like the rest of the series, aired simultaneously on sister stations WFIL (Channel 6) (Philadelphia) and freshly launched WAAM (Channel 13) (Baltimore), an innovation at the time; this would be the final entry in this particular series, but WJZ would continue to occasionally telecast silent film features for the remainder of the year. Their next television premiere would be the often requested The Son of the Sheik (1926) Tuesday 25 January 1949.

Bessie Love plays Victoria, a student at an American finishing school, who learns that she is actually royalty, the Archduchess of Saxheim, and she must go there to marry the Crown Prince. Prince Caryl (Joseph Schildkraut) takes off for a final bachelor fling in Paris before his intended arrives. The two meet there and fall in love before learning each other's true identity. Joseph's real life father, Rudolph Schildkraut, plays his movie father, King Stefan. Bessie Love is charming and the film is feel-good fun. Viewed at Cinefest in Syracuse New York, March 2003.
