The Japanese film archivist, Toshihiko Sasayama, discovered the last ten minutes of this long-lost film in February 2020. He bought the 16mm print from an antiques dealer in Aichi Prefecture, and later, with the help of a Japanese classic film researcher, Junko Iio, and an American silent film historian, Steve Massa, he learned what movie the reel had come from.
