Each of the four characters in LEIA are inspired by different stories that writer Zoe Falcon enjoys. Lyra is from the Star Wars universe, Evelyn is from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Isobel is from Beauty and the Beast (2017), and Athena is from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The story was inspired by writer Zoe Falcon's experience with anxiety.
