Among the best games ever made for the Transformers franchise are, without a doubt, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Transformers: War for Cybertron. The company that created the Transformers franchise, Hasbro, desired that they be made available on all platforms through Game Pass.

"Transformers" has been a staple in pop culture for going on 40 years now. From the somewhat humble beginnings as a bunch of transforming toys turned popular cartoon series to eventually becoming a multi-billion-dollar film franchise, Optimus Prime and the gang have come a long way. Speaking of the movies, we now live in a world with seven live-action movies, as well as the animated one from the '80s, with even more on the way. That being the case, it might be a little tough for casual movie lovers to keep track of things. We're here to help.
We're going to go over the correct movie to watch the "Transformers" movies, either for those who simply want to watch them in the order they were released, or those who would prefer to watch them in chronological order. Either way, we've got you covered. We're also going to go over some...

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, is attending New York Comic Con on Oct. 14 for the panel “AI in Entertainment: The Performer’s Perspective.”
The event comes in the wake of Crabtree-Ireland’s appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, soon after the actors strike began in mid-July, where he led a panel for voiceover actors, discussing their rights, as well as a pitstop at the Toronto International Film Festival where he had both a sitdown, and a teamed picket with Canada’s commercial actors who’ve been suffering a long contract lockout.
The news of Crabtree-Ireland’s Nycc appearance in ten days is, of course, coming as the SAG-AFTRA Chief Negotiator is today back at the bargaining table with the CEO Gang of Four –Universal’s Donna Langley, Disney’s Bob Iger, Warner Bros’ David Zaslav and Netflix’s Ted Sarandos– in pursuit of a new three-year...

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland will be at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday as a panelist on the National Association of Voice Actors’ session “AI in Entertainment: The Performers’ Perspective.”
Crabtree-Ireland will join moderator Linsay Rousseau (Transformers: War for Cybertron) and panelists Ashly Burch (Mythic Quest), Cissy Jones (The Owl House), SAG/AFTRA negotiating committee member Zeke Alton (The Calisto Protocol) and Nava president and founder Tim Friedlander (Record of Ragnarok) to discuss the existing legal structures in regards to AI and the new standards that need to be implemented that will protect voiceover actors.
While the AMPTP heralded a “groundbreaking” proposal they made to SAG-AFTRA in regards to AI, the actors guild wasn’t happy, with Crabtree-Ireland telling press recently that both sides were “pretty far apart” and that a lot was still required to protect background actors from getting their likeness and images protected.

It's been five years since a "Transformers" movie graced our screens with 2018's "Bumblebee," which turned out to be a real winner critically following the massive disappointment of 2017's "The Last Knight." Universal Pictures and Hasbro have no intention of making fans wait that long again. Not only do we have the live-action "Rise of the Beasts" arriving in 2023, but we've also got an as-of-yet untitled animated film focused on the Autobots and Decepticons coming our way in 2024. Now, we finally know what it's going to be about, and it's going to take place on Cybertron.
The information comes to us from the folks at Collider, who recently spoke with longtime franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. The producer confirmed that director Josh Cooley, of "Toy Story 4" fame, is indeed making a prequel set on Cybertron, with the film serving as an origin story of sorts for Optimus Prime and Megatron.

The studio behind The Toys That Made Us, Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black History, 2019’s Mad About You reboot, Icons Unearthed and Behind the Attraction is self-financing its first animated television series based on the 1980s property they acquired back in 2021.
Tom Stern (Spongebob Squarepants) and Gavin Hignight (Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy) have joined to write and produce as showrunners. The pilot episode will be directed by Brian Volk-Weiss, and the first season is set to have six, twenty-two-minute episodes.
“I didn’t think anything would be more surreal than selling thousands of Maxx 89 and Wrecker figures, but making an animated series come to life takes the suction cup-covered cake… and yes, we will be revealing why Wrecker comes with red roses!” said Nacelle Company Founder and CEO,...

One short (and certainly welcome) detour aside in the form of 2018’s Bumblebee, Paramount’s blockbuster Transformers franchise has been notably absent from cinema screens for quite some time. 2017’s The Last Knight remains the most recent entry in the mainline series, of course, though it certainly won’t be the last. Despite the overwhelmingly negative critical response each installment has garnered over the years, Michael Bay’s adaptations have collectively proven to be one of the Hollywood box office’s biggest earners, so it’s always been a case of when, not if, the studio decides to continue the Autobot and Decepticons’ eternal war.
Last we heard, a new movie based on the cult favourite Beast Wars story arc is in line to get the live-action treatment, alongside several other Transformer projects that are brewing in development, with Deadline reporting that James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery) is on board to help bring it to life.

We’re closing in on the end of December, and in a month filled with such incredible Netflix additions as Chadwick Boseman’s final film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, two entries in the Jurassic Park trilogy, and David Fincher’s newest effort Mank, you’d be forgiven for already having enough to keep up with. Nevertheless, today marks one of the final content drops of the year for the streaming platform, and with it comes a total of three new series.
For starters is the first season of the Danish show Equinox, which follows a young woman who was traumatized after an entire school class suddenly vanished in 1999. Years later, she sets out on a quest to discover what really happened and unravel a mystery that’s defined much of her life. If nothing else, it certainly sounds like a compelling tale that could be worth a viewing.

Like many other beloved properties that first rose to prominence in the 1980s, it appears that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will keep getting rebooted in perpetuity, similar to the likes of Transformers and Terminator. After box office takings fell off a cliff for the Michael Bay-produced film series after the second installment, another feature-length reboot is already in the works with Seth Rogen attached to produce and possibly have a hand in writing the script.

The big screen Transformers franchise may be on an extended hiatus – although, there are currently multiple projects in various stages of development – but fans were able to get their fix earlier this year when the first chapter in the Transformers: War for Cybertron trilogy landed on Netflix.
The series loaded up on nostalgia for Generation I without leaning too heavily into it at the expense of the story, and audiences were captivated by the crisp visuals, action-packed narrative and a cliffhanger ending that teased much more to come. Second installment Earthrise doesn’t even have a release date yet, but it’s already been confirmed that third and final season Kingdom will double down on fan service by not only reintroducing Beast Wars into the mythology, but having the Maximals and Predacons interact with the Autobots and Decepticons.

According to sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us a Witcher prequel show is in the works and National Treasure 3 is in development, both of which were correct – Paramount is looking to develop a new Transformers movie based on Netflix series War for Cybertron. Supposedly, the company wants to produce a live-action film that would very much remain its own standalone project and not be connected to the in-development franchise reboot or anything else coming down the pipeline.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the source material – which is quite possible, as the Transformers mythos is incredibly dense and complex – War for Cybertron is a Netflix animated series based on Hasbro’s popular line of toys that first premiered in July 2020 after a short delay thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Produced by Rooster Teeth in conjunction with both Allspark Animation and Polygon Pictures,...

With The Umbrella Academy returning for a second season this Friday, superhero shows remain a solid investment for Netflix. Whether licensed or original, the US version of Netflix currently has 61 superhero-themed series available to stream, including multiple shows from the Arrowverse, the Netflix McU originals and quite a ridiculous amount of Power Rangers content. What are some of the highlights, then, of Netflix’s superpowered series?
Well, in terms of The CW’s Arrowverse, Netflix has the back catalogue of Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, as well as Black Lightning, which taken together represents 536 episodes. While the quality of the shows may vary at times, the Arrowverse is arguably one of the best adaptations of the DC Universe to the screen and showed the potential of television to embrace the storytelling format of comics. Only Batwoman is currently not ready to stream on the platform,...

Paramount just can’t seem to make up their mind about what they want to do with the Transformers franchise, with the studio originally hiring a dozen people for their writers’ room to come up with new ideas to expand the mythology, before Michael Bay’s The Last Knight wound up falling half a billion dollars short of both Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction at the box office, leading to a complete overhaul of the series from the ground up.
There are now multiple competing Transformers projects in development, including a potential Bumblebee sequel, a feature-length animation from Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley, a live-action Beast Wars adaptation that’s currently being scripted by Zodiac’s James Vanderbilt and a full-blown reboot of the main timeline that will erase Bay’s five movies from continuity entirely.

The live-action Transformers franchise might be in the midst of being rebooted after Michael Bay’s time at the helm resulted in box office takings dropping by over a half a billion dollars between Age of Extinction and Last Knight, as well as Bumblebee becoming the lowest-grossing entry in the series yet despite receiving the most critical acclaim by far, but on the small screen the animated adventures of the Autobots and Decepticons continue to be in good health.
There might be multiple projects in the works at studio Paramount with a Bumblebee sequel, an animated prequel from Toy Story 4’s Josh Cooley, a Beast Wars adaptation currently being drafted by Zodiac’s James Vanderbilt and a full-blown reboot of the main timeline all in various stages of development, but Netflix are also throwing their hat into the Transformers ring with their upcoming series War for Cybertron – Siege.

With the live-action movie franchise currently on hiatus while they figure out a reboot, Transformers: War for Cybertron is being positioned as the big Transformers event for the next few years. Originally announced in February 2018, the transmedia project will be led by a Netflix show that’ll depict the last days of the titular War for Cybertron and the subsequent exodus to Earth.
The first chapter, Siege, hits Netflix on July 30th, 2020 and the company has just released a new trailer teasing what’s to come. As you can see above, the show brings back the iconic Gen 1 Transformers and seems to offer a fairly gritty and downbeat looking tale of warring robot factions. Here we see Optimus Prime’s Autobots in a desperate situation with their backs against the wall, with Megatron apparently ready to win a long, destructive and bloody (oily?) war.
