I love the original korean Miss Granny so much. Seeing this on netflix at first I had low expectation but to my surprise Oh Baby was executed really well. Perfectly chosen actors & beautiful songs too (this is the main reason I rate it high. hehe). Maybe some parts feel a bit draggy. Overall, this remake really did justice to the original version I am delighted.
Yesterday, I ventured into seeing #OhBaby. It has been a while since I have watched a Telugu movie. In 2010 and 2011 when I was a regular traveler to Hyderabad, Guntur, Vizag and Vijayawada, I have seen so many Telugu movies with my work mates then. I have seen so many Bollywood films in Telugu too. I remember watching Delhi Belly (Telugu) in Guntur and the entire theatre went crazy.
There are key imaginary things in Oh!Baby, if you can ride this fantasy, it will make you laugh and cry for a long time. It is such a fabulous movie that it keeps reminding multiple things to you. #OhBaby is a Korean remake of #MissGranny. It is so well made by Nandini Reddy. Congratulations Chhitra Subramaniam.
The simple concept of the movie revolves around a petulant 70-year-old Baby who's warm but overbearing, her bitterness a residue of her own rough younger days. What makes parents and grandparents become a bit of a pain? Can they breathe easy and can the younger generation also learn to not take their barbs to heart?
There are instances that make you cry and there are instances that make you laugh out loud. All these instances remind you of your mother and other elder relationships.
Don't stop reminding yourself the amount of love you possess for your mother/grandmother or anybody elder related to you.
Oh! Baby is an extremely valuable pack! It provides the elders a second shot to live! Go to the theatre, get stuck to it for approximately 3 hours. Try watching it with your mother/father/grandparents. Don't stop feeling happy! 😊

I get the actors were trying to be high energy for the comedy scenes but it just looked like they were hysterical. It was extremely cliche. The emotional scenes made me wanna to cry for all the wrong reasons

Fantasy story but worked out great by Samantha's acting and the screenplay. Had everything .. comedy, drama, fantasy. I liked many of the sentiments in between which made me miss my granny. Knew it was almost a 3 hour film only after watching the whole movie. Loved it.
When it comes to direction in the field of Cinema, the Perception and the way a Movie is told by a Female Director is always Heart Touching,
there will be Warmth, Character and Magical about it.... and we have the examples of Great Female Directors like "Nora Ephron, Nancy Meyers"...
I wish Director Nandini Reddy to achieve and join the great list of Female Directors...... This movie deserves "9",
Great Acting by Samantha, Lakshmi and all....

Don't waste your time watching it in Tamil . The dub is really bad. They don't get Samantha and Lakshmi to do the dub even though they speak Tamil . The music is also badly remade in Tamil . Dubbing it in Tamil was a afterthought they should have put more of a effort or just shot it simultaneously in tamil to begin . I would have rather have watched a full Tamil remake since I don't understand Telugu .

It's good to see these plots in Indian films. I always wonder when are we going to start making films like this and they finally stepping into it one by one. It's more perfect than my expectations. They didn't completely misaligned with scripts and they added songs in-between movie to give an Indian feeling touch here and there. Believe me I watched it with my grandmother late night and she said it's a good film. And I totally agree with her. Give it a try.

There are very few movies which entertain you to the fullest and yet leave an impactful message which stays with you in your heart forever. This one is among them. The storyline itself is a bit bizzard yet it keeps you entertaining with several weird antics and ROFL moments. An Offbeat Samantha, the showsteller, playing the role of a lady who's body is aged 20 but her mind, heart, actions are like a 70 year old granny. The caring nature and several intense moments between a son and a mother will really make you emotional. I personally felt the plot was heart touching and leaves several message especially how we treat our elders. Do give it a watch. You will surely love this movie too.
