The acting was ok. Story was slow. Might have earned an average rating but the technical flaws stand out.
Lighting / grading looks like it was done by 5 different people. At one point the white balance was way off. Shots in the same scene seamed like they weren't even Color matched. Really basic stuff that should not be in a feature film.
I think the editor can take some of the blame as some issues can easily be fixed in post. For example, dialog from another take didn't match the mouth movement of the actor talking. This could have been fixed by simply cropping in tighter.
Audio had issues with noise floor or room noise cutting out between angles in dialog. Again basic stuff recording room tone or manufacturing background sound.
Overall it is slow but watchable. Above average for general Christian movies these days.

Excellent acting throughout the film. Film kept me riveted due to the good actors. Excellent directing. And excellent Christian message. The story is about a single mother who has a10 year old daughter and they live with her unemployed, alcoholic and abusive boyfriend. Location is a small town in Tennessee. Single mother who's the girlfriend comes home from work at the Diner, and boyfriend is on the couch drunk and wants attention. They have a fight and the boyfriend accidentally strikes down the 10 year old daughter, where she becomes permanently paralyzed. Mother and daughter flee to their Uncles in another town. They start attending church and the young mother meets a nice church going man. She finds work and things start to get better until the ex-boyfriend finds her and wants to get even and he also came to get the money she stole from him. The film has a good ending. I recommend it.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but wow this movie is a waste of 90 minutes. It may be the terrible writing that makes the acting seem so bad, but the characters were pretty flat and uninteresting. Actually I think I've seen better acting in a high school play.

Movie seemed very incomplete and it was boring with very flat acting. The story line had potential but didn't come through. Completely wasted my time watching this.

This story of a young single mother (Carrie) trying to start a new life in small town was poignant and moving at times. Derrick Dee Drake's performance was especially remarkable as Uncle Earl. Life is difficult as is overcoming your past mistakes. There are no easy answers. The story addresses this in a loving way. The outstanding camerawork and just-right sound track were as good as any I've experienced in an indy film. Congratulations to Erik Parks and Charity Spencer for bringing this film to life.
I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of writing and character development. I found myself drawn into the story. The characters are real and relatable. Their lives and the storyline aren't buttoned up or a story with a perfect solution. Loved it. Left hopeful!

A terrific film. Full of suspense and very heart warming. I enjoyed how the writer brought the story to light by focusing on the good of others to help bring hope and resolution to those that were in need of just wanting to be Loved and respected by others. A fantastic cast. At a time of uncertainty, this is the perfect film to remind us all that Joy is just a moment away.
I enjoyed this movie very much. The story was real and full of emotion - moments of humor, suspense, sadness and hope. The writing was excellent and the acting well done.

I was fortunate to know an assistant producer, or I might never have known about this warming film. The soundtrack was terrific and the story relatable. My only mild critique is that the camera cuts from one view to another occasionally seemed abrupt, but perhaps I'm the only one who thought so. Perfectly forgivable nonissue. Very much worth the rental. 9/10.

This film is a labor of love, seeking to bridge the gap between Christian film and a message that speaks to all. Wonderful characters and a compelling story that ends with heart-stopping intensity. Watch this film!
Sat down and watched this movie with my wife and one of my daughters, and we really enjoyed it! One of the main things I took out of it (with no spoilers) is that we can get too busy and get very overwhelmed with our lives circumstances that we can fail to recognize the dreams and talents of our own children. We need to slow down realize the true reason "why we breathe" and find the purpose on why God has us here. This movie does an excellent job on showing these aspects that we all need to apply to our own lives. This message might be subtle to most viewers, but this is something that stood out to me having young children that I'm raising and being a filmmaker myself. I'm looking forward to watching future projects from Erik Parks. This is just the beginning of what he is capable of creating!
The cast in this film was on their A game. The writing was also very fresh. A lot of movies like this can feel formulaic but this one did a good job of keeping you guessing a little bit. Great family film!

This was so great!. Beautifully made with great acting. The ending leaves you wanting a bit, but the store itself is amazing. Take the time to watch this film, it is definitely worth the watch.

I completely enjoyed this movie. Contrary to what I seen in a different review, I am not in any way affiliated with the makings of this movie. There were a few things I would have liked to see with it or added in but I wasn't the writer and still enjoyed it. If I were to make a constructive criticism it would definitely be the ending. Did she make it in music or settle for small town life? Did she end up with good guy? Did she finally surrender herself to the love of Christ? This was, in my opinion a great start to a mini series and it was definitely left open enough to add a tremendous amount of content but it was still good.

Being a mental health therapist, I could really feel for the main character and the male supporting role with PTSD. I think the directors really did well developing human character and emotion and how that plays out in behavior. Great cast, love the theme related to purpose and peace! 🕊
