I really like the show, the progression of the different contestants was interesting and often very emotional and true to them. I think Chance and TI were great, but Cardi comes across to me as just speaking anything that comes out of her brain without any thought whatsoever. 'De do de de de de blabattaaas blat I like ur song. I wants ta had sex to dat.' Totally nonsensical, I understand maybe she's speaking a vernacular that maybe popular with the youth of today but honestly to everybody else she comes across as a complete moron. put someone up there that can actually add to the conversation about the talent of the people and not just a bunch of random things that really mean nothing to anyone. People clap on clap on clap but she said nothing time and time again. The input from TI and Chance was.trult constructive though. Good show overall.
Finally they dare to reinvent the format of the music contest and to make it about hip hop!! So refreshing, hats off Netflix! Might not be up to the taste of the The Voice crowd, but damn, just watched the finale and what a journey! It was so fun to watch contestants take up different challenges, outgrow themselves, and be tested on all aspects that make an individual become a a bigger artist. I personally laughed a lot with Cardi B's bubbly personality, she knows what it takes to be successful commercially. T.I, Chance and Cardi all brought interesting angles to the jugging. Looking forward to season two!

So Cardi B, Snoop Dogg, TI and Chance the rapper, are auditioning the next big Hip hop star. I feel what they are doing. Chance, Snoop and TI seem to be Dead honest in their criticism of those trying out. Cardi B though, I just don't see what she brings to the proceedings.
Those trying out vary in quality. But that is life right?

I'm only 2 episodes in but I am hooked! They couldn't have picked better judges for this show and the guest judges are great.

Contrary to what some reviews say, I'm not into hip-hop and rap but I enjoyed the show a lot. It can benefit from one improvement next season - replacing Cardi B with a female rapper who actually has something to say. Cardi is a waste of judge chair. Not only was I disappointed in her, but I felt that casting her did a disservice to female rappers who can articulate their opinion and contribute with valuable critique. I see the attempt to increase viewership by inviting her, but she brought nothing to the table.

I think the celebrity judges were more fixated on superfical criteria to judge the contestants on than actual skill. Too many people got cut IMO that had real skill vs. the ones that just looked "right".
It's a good concept, I just wish it were a lot less focused on things that don't actually matter. I won't add any spoilers, you can see for yourself why I have my own pet peeves with the show. It's still on Netflix.

I love shows like this and having TI, Chance and Cardi as rappers is a perfect mix. Chance is straight no chaser, Cardi gets her little slick comments in to soften the tone and TI is about his Biz! I am hooked and although I hated the fact that the full season was released, I also secretly love it. I would have finished it in one full day if they had. I'm so hype to see who wins this cuz we have some good talent here. The videos were dope!
Watched this show from start to unfortunate finish. The 'winner' should not have been there at the end, let alone won the whole show. There was clearly some kind of bias towards the person that won. Another contestant in the final four had a horrible attitude and also should not have been there. Maybe having a judge that could have based their decisions on technical ability could have improved these biases that really ruined the show for us. Don't know if I'd watch another season based on the way this went down.
The challenges were interesting. We particularly liked the cypher and rap battle moments, and seeing guest judges come on the scene! Was nice to get other perspectives in those earlier episodes.

So many good rappers were sent home to make way for people who should not have been there up until the final 7. The judges had favorites, and the commentary made no sense. Anyone could see the people who were sent home were better overall. I'm so so mad I wasted those 10 hours for the outcome we got. Do not recommend. I don't want to say the winner wasn't talented, but the difference in musicality, lyricism, stage performance, and ability's was vast. So vast. There was no competition. I'm over this show and Netflix orchestrated reality tv or competition shows. Take me work for it go to social media for the highlights.

They were able to find so much talent! Londynn B was my favorite from the start with D Smoke right behind her. I can't wait to see the evolution of they're careers. I think this show is going to breathe new life into hip hop culture as a whole and it's very exciting to be a part of!

Give me more! Very unique competition show watching experience! Love me some hip hop. Hip hop artists are so creative and it was cool to see it in motion. Also loved seeing the inner workings of the industry. Seeing the cities the auditions were in, and hearing a bit of history of each city was rich. I usually don't respond to the haters but damn y'all are haters! Cardi B impressed.
Cardi b as judge... This show is total waste of time

Really entertaining to watch. Only competition show where people are allowed and therefore do curse every other sentence! The challenges are fun, especially enjoyed the rap battle. I personally love Cardi but her critiquing is a bit... idk... obviously she's a world-class talent and knows a lot about rapping and stuff, I just feel like when she's commenting on the contestants performance she doesn't really know what she's talking about so she copies what Chance or Tip just said or just spews nonsense. But, still enjoyed watching her.
Can't wait for season 2!

This show gained momentum from start to finish and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys rap, hip hop, RnB and entertainment in general. The finale was phenomenal

Was surprisingly enjoyable and I really agreed with most of the decisions. I was impressed with their feedback amd how they kept it real.
Some of it was annoying but some people are just annoying.
Lol Cardi grew on me.

Below is my original post. I just went from an 8 to 1 in rating. Season 2 was absolute trash and a joke. The winner should have never even made it through the first round. What a waste of a season and an originally decent show. Don't bring it back.
Overall decent until the battle rounds. A lot of artists went through that shouldn't have and others that should have didn't. Would have made more sense for the best of the battles to go through versus the winner of individual battles. Cardi B has actually grown on me, but still cringe worthy at times. Chance, to me, has had the most valid feedback thus far. Hoping for a season 2 with improvements, as the show is pretty decent. (Side note, if there's a season two can we get Missy please... just saying) And Snoop was awesome, would be good to have him and (his "joint" hehe) as a regular judge.

I find myself actually emotional watching all of the performer's stories and it's definitely not easy being in their shoes. I'm rooting for them, have a few favorites, and I'm gonna stick with this to the end. I see some people dissing Cardi...She's actually toned down alot from the Cardi who made my ears hurt when she used to speak. I'm giving her a chance to step outside of herself and build her overall brand. Get em girl...and being on Netflix is a SMART move....with you til we find THE BEST artist. Let's GO!
