- TriviaThe taxi uses wood gasification as a fuel source. This was a widespread practice during WWII when petrol was scarce. The hissing drum at the back of the taxi is the gasifier unit.
- GoofsAt the end, when leaving the Theatre to check to see if Eva is home, the mother leaves Right out of the theatre door, turns right, so is then BEHIND the theatre--instead of just going left, but then makes FOUR MORE RIGHTS which would have her going in the opposite direction, looping over where she was and back past the school, in a circle. Really weird choice of making her turn that way 5 times, instead of just showing some of that anxious run home and editing out the turns.
- Quotes
Reggie: The other day I was invited to my sister's school to tell them about our squadron. So I told'em, 'One day, on a mission, out of a cloud, this fucker appears.' The kids start giggling. I say, 'We shoot one of 'em down, but all of a sudden, the fucker appears from behind us, right?' Now, the kids start really laughing. All of the sudden the teacher angrily interrupts me, goes: 'I think I should make it clear that Fokker is the name of a German aircraft.' Then I go, 'Yeah that's true, that's true. But these fuckers were Messerschmitts.'

Yes I think so.
Do you think it will last a long time?
Perhaps. I don't know.
Are we going to heaven?
Yes, we all are.
Is Jesus then waiting for us?
Yes, he is. I'm sure he is.
A Danish historical depiction of an accident during the bombing from the Rapid Air Force against the Gustapo police office in Denmark.
That's really all you need to know. The synopsis really spoiled this movie, as what the synopsis describes took away the shell-shock factor that could make this movie a lot more impactful.
Starting off I had the day that the first half was too long and included couple scenes that I don't think did anything to the story. They created some side-plots that didn't go anywhere.
Still, when the shock hit it was brutal and tragic. The chaos was fairly well-done. Man that last shot of this movie delivered a monumental impact that spoke volumes to the side-effects of war. Stories like this usually got thrown under the bus, but collateral damage from war and bombing is very serious.
Doubting God is a common theme in movies about tragedies. However, this movie brought up a thought process that showed how God might be distracted. It was an eye-opening thought that I never heard off, and it made me wonder.
Overall, it's a solid retelling of a tragic event. 7.5-8/10.
