On Friday, 15th May 2020 Sky Television announced that they have commissioned a second series of the comedy. The second series is expected to air on Sky One in 2021.
Many characters are named after some famous philosophers of mind: (Derek) Parfit, (Daniel) Dennett, Gilbert Ryle, and (David) Chalmers.
Stephen Graham (Roy Carver), Daniel Mays (John Major) and Anna Maxwell-Martin (Kelly Major) all played police officers in BBC's Line Of Duty. Graham portrayed John Corbett in series 5, Maxwell-Martin also in series 5 as Patricia Carmichael. And Mays as Danny Waldron in series 3. Although they all started in Line Of Duty none of them appeared in an episode together.
On Thursday, 4th November 2021, Sky Television officially announced that the sitcom has been recommissioned for a third series. Series three will be broadcast in 2022.
Stephen Graham and Daniel Mays both starred in Line of Duty and Top Buzzer. The actors never crossed paths in Line of Duty. Graham played season 5's Detective Sergeant John Corbett, while Mays appeared in season 3 as Sergeant Danny Waldron. Both characters were killed off.
