The movie takes place in December just before and on Christmas. It was obviously shot in the winter (bare deciduous trees and bushes everywhere plus cold air), however, in the outdoor street scenes it can be heard a loud birds' singing. Fun fact: singing birds don't sing in December, they start to sing in the late February or early March.
