After demise of Rishi Kapoor, then Paresh Rawal completed the remaining part of Rishi Kapoor in film
After Rishi Kapoor's death there were news that the film will either be shelved or re-shot.But Farhan Akhtar assured that it will release as last film of Rishi Kapoor.
Before the film starts Ranbir Kapoor gives a short speech that how his father Late Rishi Kapoor wanted to complete the film and release it.Ranbir Kapoor felt that he should put prosthetic and complete the film or complete it to through VFX but either didn't work and it looked that the film wont be complete until Paresh Rawal stepped in.
Rishi Kapoor signed the film in 2017 and had joint discussion with the team but September 2018 he had to go to New York for his cancer treatment and returned after a year in September 2019 and started shooting for the film in January 2020.
While shooting in Delhi Rishi Kapoor lost his sister Ritu Nanda and returned back to Mumbai.The producers want to re schedule the shoot but Rishi Kapoor returned back after her final rites.
