Bless the Harts has been unfavorably compared to King of the Hill, but a more apt comparison would be Raising Hope. The show, much like Hope involves a family of eccentric simpletons trying to do right by their kids and for the most part it does work. An aspect that sets it apart from other shows of this ilk is the lead male character of Dwayne who while being simple shows himself to be a caring and dedicated man who tries to earn the respect of his girlfriend's daughter and wants to be seen as a father figure to her. It's a welcome change from the numerous idiotic dad archetypes we've seen in shows from the TV staples of Simpsons and Family Guy to stuff already relegated to obscurity like Committed or Game Over. It needs to work on its pacing and delivery, but the characters and personality of the show manage to keep it working.
