Brendan O'Carroll is now known as Mrs Brown from the sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys, and having seen most of the episodes of the show I thought it'd be interesting to see what Brendan's stand up was like. My verdict: it's okay but completely indistinctive. These are just my thoughts based on this show, I've yet to see his other routines but may watch them at some point to see if they are any better.
O'Carroll does tell some funny gags of his own here and there but some are just lifted from other comedian's acts. I'm sure I heard a couple from Bernard Manning in there. I'm not singling O'Carroll out here though.
The crowd laughed regularly and appeared to enjoy themselves, so I guess that's all that matters.
