This show on the outset would appear to be another piece of weeb trash. And that's intentional, this shows title and cover are literally clickbait, and that's what drew me to the series, but what this show is, is something truly spectacular. Every single aspect about this show from its art to its plot are masterfully crafted to deliver the most emotionally powerful experice of any late 2018 anime. I cried multiple times throughout this series, and I am in no way ashamed to admit that. The characters and their relationships are very realistic and how they interact is just enjoyable to watch, especially with Mai and Sakuta, who have such amazing chemistry and play off the other exceptionally well. The other characters and the problems that afflict them are also explored in depth, with their problems being manifested into abilities or changes to them or their surroundings. This is manifestation is what the show calls "adolescence/puberty syndrome," and its inclusion creates a small mystery element that gives the characters time to shine and truly express the issues plaguing them. It would also be cruel of me not to mention the amazing voicework done for this show, as all of it is excellent, same can be said of the art which is clean and beautifully shaded and colored. I completely, unironically adore this show, and the select few who I've made watch this show, shared my feelings. If you enjoy slice of life, mystery, romance, or anime at all, you owe it to yourself to watch this show.

I started watching this series thinking that it'll be rom com anime but it is much more than that. We might feel really weird watching this because our logic won't be able to keep up with it but as it progresses we can understand the message the series is trying to convey. It deals with high school bullying and the herd mentality of people. The story is about a high school boy Sakuta who falls in love with a senior girl Mai. Soon Sakuta finds that Mai is also going through the conditions that he once went through. So he decides to help her and they develop strong feelings for each other while dealing their problems together.
Overall it is a good series to watch, but remember that this is not a science fiction(though may feel like one). So enjoy watching it with a open heart and mind.

Trust me, there is no minute in this anime will make you feel bored. The characters were likeable, there were a heartbreaking moments, the script was fantastic.it's a story for the people that you care about and love, with some science fiction, you have to check it out.

The story isnt all the good but it is watchable with a lot of mystery, but what makes this so amazing is the interaction between the 2 main characters and thats what make this show so good. It reminds me a lot of Oregairu and Classroom of the elite.
Story- 7/10 - Characters 10/10 - Sound 10/10 - Visuals(i personally love it -9/10)
At the start you might feel confused because the writer has a weird way of introducing things but as you progressed and get comfortable with the idea of "Puberty Syndrome" Things starts to get really interesting. This anime has a very interesting turn off events to say the least. It is makes you laugh at the beginning and leaves you crying at the end.

This anime series is centred on Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student. He has a bad reputation; people believe he was responsible for hospitalising three other students. He tries to live a quiet life but everything changes when he meets Mai Sakurajima, a teenage actress, at the library. There is something very strange; she is wearing a bunny girl costume but nobody appears to notice her; in fact she is surprised that he notices her. When he asks others about her nobody seems to recognise her name despite her fame. It appears that this is a case of what is dubbed 'Adolescence Syndrome'. Sakuta determines to investigate this. Over the course of the series he resolves Mai's problem but she isn't the only person affected; he must investigate other cases, including that of his younger sister who has been suffering from amnesia.
I didn't expect too much of this anime but it turned out to be one of the best I watched this season. There is a solid sense of mystery as Sakuta tries to understand what caused each of the cases of Adolescence Syndrome and resolving it. Each case is quite different so it never feels repetitive. The characters are interesting; particularly Sakuta and Mai but the secondary characters are also fun to watch. The plot line involving his sister is particularly emotional. While to condition is obviously science fiction it gives an insight into relatively ordinary personal concerns. The animation was impressive with good character designs and backgrounds. Overall I'd definitely recommend this series.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

First off, the art work is very nice, not spectacular, but very nice. The writing is intelligent. The story, or rather the sequence of story lines, is slice-of-life, quotidian except for the fantastic elements. It's high school kids striving to understand their adolescent conflicts. One of the big differences is, and one of the reasons I liked it is, the main boy character is not constantly struck dumb and impotent by social interactions, as is the usual case. He is cool and competent while at the same time aware that he is struggling for answers just like his peer group. He does his best without making a big deal out of it. He is not an agonized loner although he does tend to stand apart. Perhaps the sense of cool detachment is what induced boredom in some of the watchers.
But you have to also watch the movie, only after seeing both will it come together as something greater than an above average and moderately unique anime..

The anime itself has an interesting idea, but the way the story was carried out wasn't as great as i would want it to be. it really disappointed me.
but to the good parts, the characters are some of the prettiest/cutest characters ever. mai and sakuta together make my heart melt, they have the cutest romance.
and what makes it cool was that i didn't expect the anime to be how it turned out to be, it was almost like clickbait. i totally thought it would be some random harem.

When I first stumbled upon this series, I avoided it because I thought it would be just another overhyped half-assed ecchi anime that everyone obsesses about. But no. I cried straight through the 4 first episodes. Maybe because of my low expectations from the start just made it the best anime I've ever seen!!

Sci-Fi(not ecchi)
This is a really good one and really worth your time!! let me ask you this do you get this feeling that you already have lived a moment once but can't put your finger on? well the anime basically deals with kids dealing with this kinda situations called Adolescence syndrome. The anime has memorable characters and a very nice plot.Well the ending falls flat in comparison to the build up and which is definitely one of the weakest parts of the show, don't get me wrong the ending is still pretty good! A definite must watch

Don't get me wrong but recent romance animes really aren't hitting the spot. There are very few great ones out there that are as good as the oldies. This should be one of them. Now this isn't your average highschool slice of life. This takes romance to a new level combining mystery and paranormal abilities with normal human struggles.
Romance anime begun to take a trend that we are getting tired off. I know there is a target audience but we are tired of main characters that can't speak in front of a girl. Main characters that are so anti social they get red faced every now and then when a girl smiles to them. Main characters who are so shy they can't stand upright or set something straight once and for all. The main character of this anime is a boss who reminds me so much of Hachiman from Oregaishiru. He sets things straight and gives off cool comments here and there. Rascal doesn't dream....... Is so unique that we don't get to see the usual where some anti social over the shy guy is trying to win a hottie girl he knows he can't handle. But we see a mystery drama that deals with the pains, problems and joy that come with teenage relationships either among lovers, friends and family. The main character prevails over some of his hardest challenges a romance anime rarely has. The series goes through time loops, body swaps, body splits and other paranormals whiles keeping the stories simple to an extent we are able to identify with it. Great romance anime in a while.

It's an incredibly well written show with characters you can easily sympathize with. The chemistry between the characters is great and nothing feels forced. All the dialogues are believable and you can tell the writers made a conscious effort to minimize the amount of plotholes in the series.
Recommended to anyone who is past their shonen/shojou phase of anime.

Honestly i love the show, it is written very flawlessly and the characters are written so perfectly. The lot is quite confusing but if you pay attention to the show you will understand everything. The plot is pretty unique and interesting but them repeating the same thing gets boring. The show was very interesting at first the few episodes were great but when the same thing happened for the second and then third time i was quite bored i wanted to drop the show but i didn't thinking something interesting would happen. And it did!! the ending is really something to wait for, i would recommend it to people who like science fiction anime's and romance, it also has comedy in it.

And you thought it's something degenerate.
This is the review of both the anime series and movie.
A naughty title serves as a disguise of a sci-fi yet sad look at ages of growing teens. As part of Erikson's stage of development, Identity vs Role confusion is where teenagers struggle to find out who they are and accept their characteristics. The use of quantum physics and relativity principles were brilliant and reflected the common insecurities that many had to face. Although there is romcom and romance, both the series and movie required audience to figure out the phenomena and then think about the consequences of these insecurities. This led to the main theme of the series, which is to recognize one's own emotions and insecurities and accept them in order to move forward.
The movie did not follow this theme as much, but instead aimed for more drama and emotions using its complicated time travel plot. It took me quite a bit to figure out, but still it was an emotional ride with shocking twists that hit me like a minivan.
The animation was just beautiful. The characters looked great, especially their eyes. Also, the drawings of the surroundings and the ocean scenes were breathtaking.
The interaction between characters were oddly hilarious. The way they talked to each other nonchalantly with innuendos got me cracked up (step on my foot please bunny senpai). The romance between the rascal and the senpai was not overwhelming, but subtle and sweet. The movie served to solidify their strong romance.
Overall, a surprisingly fascinating and emotional anime. Series 8.5/10. Movie 8/10.

The shows is a lot better then how it's described, in fact the title doesn't suit the show really at all and I find the main plot revolving around "puberty syndrome" rather dumb.
People like to compare this to the Monogatari series and I think they're absolutely right.... if you removed everything that made Monogatari interesting, so yeah it's more like a poor mans Monogatari.

From all the hype and curiosity around this recent anime, I really wanted to see what it was like. I have to admit, it wasn't what I thought. It wasn't an over the top animation like you'd normally see in some romance anime nowadays. However it did lack the main direction of where the story was actually going from and that kind of bored me. I'm surprised that I managed to watch 5 episodes and then decided to not like it after all! I have to say it was interesting at first to be honest but then, it suddenly didn't on the 5th episode. So yeah, if you do wanna keep watching this anime despite my review, you can go ahead without me no problem lol!
