Rauw Alejandro, Tainy, and Millennium Parade’s Daiki Tsuneta are cartoon racers in the new video for “Kizao.” On Friday, the Japanese musical collective released their trilingual, cross-cultural collaboration with Rauw and Tainy, along with its animated music video.
“I’m excited about the collaboration with Millennium Parade, Daiki, and my brother Tainy on this new project,” Rauw Alejandro said in a press release. “It’s been a fusion of our different worlds — bringing together the energy of Japan’s innovative sound and the rhythms of Puerto Rico. The creative chemistry has been unreal.

RaiNao is entering a new era at full speed with the sultry single “Roadhead.”
In a video premiering exclusively on Rolling Stone, the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter takes the driver seat with her sexuality and desires. Set in the hazy cloud of an afterparty, the explicit clip finds RaiNao ready for action as she heads home. The singer grinds inside her car, promising lovers she finds off the side of the road that she’ll “make their dreams come true” as they join her for an adventurous ride.

Chicago – One of the Midwest Film Festival’s greatest strengths is its sense of community. The way they branch out and reach out to all in the Chicago filmmaker/actor/crew collective is without precedent in this evolving cinema city. Monday, August 28th, will feature Women & Gender Non-Conforming Filmmaker Night, and one of the films making its Chicago debut is “Road Head” by Allison Torem. Click Mff for tickets and more information.
“Road Head” is a hilarious story of coupling, carnality and Covid, not necessarily in that order. Written/directed by and in a lead role is Allison Torem, the broad farce takes on as many modern problems as possible in a short film format. The filmmaker herself describes it as a “Reform Jewish absurd comedy about grief, changing plans, and the lengths we’ll go to avoid direct communication with the people we love.”

Stars: Clayton Farris, Damian Joseph Quinn, Elizabeth Grullon, Adam Nemet, Paul T. Taylor, Misty Bones, Clay Acker | Written by Justin Xavier | Directed by David Del Rio
Director David Del Rio and writer Justin Xavier, the duo who gave us the twisted Christmas story Sick for Toys, are back with Road Head, a bizarre, raunchy, and occasionally bloody, horror comedy with a distinct LGBTQ+ element. Can this tale of a road trip from hell bring you satisfaction? Or is this one time you should actually decline road head?
Bryan (Clayton Farris; Foster Boy) and his boyfriend Alex just wanted to go on a road trip to Isola Lake out in the desert. Unfortunately Bryan’s bestie Stephanie (Elizabeth Grullon; Killing Lazarus) got dumped by her boyfriend and decides to play third wheel despite the fact she and Alex don’t get along.
To make matters worse the lake turns out to be dried out.

Three friends take a road trip to what’s supposed to be a fun lakeside holiday venue. When they arrive, they discover that the lake has dried up and is now a desert where a man wanders around decapitating people with a big sword. To directly compare this to the experience of watching Road Head would be somewhat unkind, but it’s more than a little disappointing to be promised a fun trashy queer comedy horror and to then end up watching this.
It’s not a bad movie, which is part of the problem. It veers desperately from side to side of the uncanny valley of goodness, with both genuine quality and so-bad-it’s-good entertainment somehow managing to escape its grasp. There are flashes of trash-horror brilliance here and there, but they only serve to highlight how frustrating it is to watch so much of the film meander slowly down a dirt track instead.
