The house where the film was shot had no running water, so a port-a-potty was rented for the production. It can be seen in some of the shots outside. Due to the layout of the property, there was nowhere it could be placed where it wouldn't be seen.

The car used in the film was a 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 station wagon.
There's a misconception that the British woman in the car with the sleazy politician is his wife. It's actually his campaign manager, Ms. Klinkel. The politician's wife is never seen in the film.
