Mickey Mouse's drumming rendition of "Friend Like Me" was performed on stage by professional percussionist and musician, Nicole Marcus, who had to drum while wearing the full Mickey suit. During the drumming performance, special effects crew articulated Mickey's eyes and mouth by remotely controlling the costume headpiece from off stage.

I agree in many aspects with the reviewer, Vinnie. There was not enough Mickey Mouse in this special. They had 90 years of cartoons to draw from and wasted it. It would have been nice to have more history and context for longer clips -- and they could have included the years to show the evolution.

I'm not up on the latest Disney "stars", but their performances of classic Disney were a nice tribute. Luis Fonsi and the K-Pop band lip synching their new singles were totally out of place -- as was Josh Groban singing his new song live.
