Nathan Fillion, who plays Nathan Drake in the fan film, has been campaigning to play the character since 2010.
After Drake jumps out of the window, the aspect ratio changes to a fuller screen to show more action. This is a mirror to how aspect ratios change in the Uncharted games when the action switches between "cutscene" and "gameplay."
This short film is neither authorized nor endorsed by Sony or Naughty Dog. It's a passion project, according to its creators.
Both Naughty Dog vice president and series writer and director Neil Druckmann and Shawn Levy love the fan film very much. Levy was set to direct Uncharted (2022), but left the project to make Free Guy (2021).
Sully has emails referencing the games: The first is from Chloe Frazer with the info for this mission; the second is from Drake and shows his love of playing Marco Polo; the third is from Charlie Cutter and is about getting a mobile phone contract, which he doesn't do, as he runs out of credit in the third game, set after this story.
