Love the Melbourne location shots and the association with AFL. In my opinion this show isn't about club culture (AFL) but rather the relationships between player's, their partners and their "friendship" group. It could be set in any environment where the main protagonists have high public profiles and where the media and public have an insatiable appetite for "news".
I'm interested to see where it ends up.

I got so invested in the characters and after season 2's cliffhanger ending, it's such a let-down to find out the show has been cancelled....wahhhtf! Another item dumped into that abandoned storehouse of tortured dissatisfaction. I'm going to start checking show series older than 2 years to see if they've been prematurely cancelled so I can avoid this in the future. Not really fair to us viewers and there should really be a warning or notice upfront to let potential viewers know what they're in for...

Had potential for a quality show. But has lost me with the latest graphic sex scene. Why do producers have to rely on graphic sex to attract an audience? Looking forward to more family friendly entertainment. Without the graphic sex it could have been worth watching. Offends some of us with graphic sex scenes. I try to support Australian made,, but this makes it impossible. Take note of The Good Doctor success without offensive sex scenes.
Not an original concept at all, Channel 10. Go watch Footballer's Wives, the story is almost exactly the same (from the first episode).
Anyway I loved that show so I'm sure this one will be great.

Am loving this new show and hope is renewed for a second season. Love that the story line is fast paced - lots is happening in a single episode. Feels like a typical Aussie show, don't take it too seriously. Am enjoying where this is going, scandalous, unpredictable and fun showing contrast between a typical Aussie girl and the more refined, glamorous types. Not really about footy!

Um, good try Ten, unfortunately your attempts at making a good tv program has failed. Oh, please. . Pairing a no bit country girl with snobbish Wags??, honestly, really? Stupid! And she doesn't even gel with your "i don't understand where this D rate program is going?? Pfff try again guys!! Stupid!@ Honestly, STOP!!
..seems no matter what these folks down under set their minds to doing... they most times pull it off exceptionally well..
..this production has been building steam since the opening episode.. and you know a show is really good, when you wished they had released the entire season to streaming... because waiting that week seems never ending..
..the entire cast is terrific.. and there has to be a special mention regarding Madeline West.. for any woman, not yet forty years old.. looking as amazing as she does.. having a solid acting career.. along with a family with six children.. (one son and five daughters.. ranging from a thirteen year-old down to twins that are four).. now that is absolutely incredible..
... it's a show that's good and getting better.. always fun to watch.. to the powers that be.. please don't let this be a one or two season and done.. let it run..

I understand what this show is trying to do but it's clearly set in an imaginary universe. I think the writers are extremely ignorant of the true workings of a sporting club and are hopefully embarrassed by the outcome. Bad acting, bad sets, ridiculous storyline but the best special effects since Sharknado.

It's a great show! I love the characters and they are played by great Actresses, popular people I know and like from other shows. It is full of drama and always keeps you interested. I love the friendship with the women. It has good messages about equality. I have seen season 1 and just finished season 2! That cliffhanger! season 3 please!!

If Rachel Lang or Edwards isn't involved I know I probably wont like it much. This.. I watch almost all Australian drama/comedies and only recognize one actor. Most are ok for soaps but that's about it. I don't mind soaps some of my fave series are Redrock, Eastenders, Hollyoaks , Coronation Street( hes UK and one Irish) but they are loads better than this. It's an ok watch but Outrageous fortune( one of my all time faves yes it's NZ) Love my way, This is us are far superior. If you take this for what is it's mildly entertaining when you have nothing else to watch.

If your looking for light entertainment and an enjoyable easy to watch show look no further. No it's not serious dramatic acting, it's a little bit funny, it's a little bit tongue in cheek and it has me wanting more. MKe a season 2 and the people that don't want a season 2 some advise just don't watch it and let those who do enjoy the show!

Playing for Keeps is one of the best dramas Australia's had in a long - makes great catch-up binge watching as well as fun the watch each week every Wednesday night. This one-of-a-kind show takes us behind the scenes of the AFL with compelling storylines, beautiful writing and top-class acting to show the world of the WAGs (Women and Girlfriends) of the footy players.
This is viewing that clearly not to miss - what's not to love when the wives are around? I love the five main girls of Paige, Kath, Tahlia, Maddy & Jessie and their husbands and boyfriends are such complex characters as well. I especially love newcomer's Ethan Panizza's writing as Rusty O'Reilly and Travis Cochrane, played by Kevin Hofbauer, is such an interesting & complicated character. George Pullar pulls off his part as Daniel Fletcher, the protagonist's (Paige Dunkley's) husband.
In short it's a great show. I'd recommend that you at least start watching the premiere episode, if you haven't already. As what's not to love about this crazy world of scandals, sex and controversy?

I don't understand the lack of ratings and reviews!
This Aussie drama is a major step up to some of its predecessors (let's be honest, Aussie dramas are definitely not to the caliber of the US or UK).
The acting, storyline and variation of story make this an easy watch and has me waiting for more each week!
Love it!

The second season ends in a cliffhanger and there is no third season to resolve it!
Throughout the first two seasons there a many mini plots going on.
