“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is bringing some beloved characters back to fans, but the sequel is also introducing a few fresh faces — relatively speaking, considering they might be dead.
Once again directed by Tim Burton, the sequel takes place 30 years after the original, bringing the Deetz family back together for Charles’ death. At this point, Lydia (Winona Ryder) is fully grown with a daughter of her own, who discovers the mysterious remnants of Beetlejuice left in the attic.
We won’t spoil anything here, but we will give you a rundown of who’s who in the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” cast and the characters they’re playing, old and new.
Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) Warner Bros.
The juice is loose yet again, and he’s played by Michael Keaton once more. Keaton is, of course, perhaps best known as Beetlejuice and Batman, but you’ll also from “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spotlight” and “Birdman.”

The Netflix algorithm is a presumably all-knowing yet unknowable piece of math that can make kings and tumble empires. It has allowed shows like "Arrested Development" and "Lucifer" to get a second chance at life after their original networks canceled them. The algorithm has made Netflix shows into huge worldwide phenomena, like "Squid Game" and "Stranger Things," but it has also made big productions disappear into the ether as no one knows when they get released, let alone watch them — like "The Irishman."
No one knows whether a show will be a hit or not, as even if one tops the charts upon its release, there is no guarantee that it will remain there and prove itself worthy of more episodes. The latest show to embark on the herculean task of climbing the Netflix charts, the odyssey of trying to reach enough subscribers to guarantee a second season, is a...

The star of stage and screen on playing Persephone in Netflix’s bold take on Greek mythology, going viral and being uncool about awards
Actor, producer and campaigner Rakie Ayola, 56, was born in Cardiff to a Sierra Leonean mother and a Nigerian father. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. She won a Bafta for the BBC drama Anthony and a Bafta Cymru for The Pact, but is perhaps best known as nurse Kyla Tyson in Holby City and for playing Hermione Granger in the West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. She now stars in Netflix series Kaos, a modern-day retelling of Greek mythology.
What attracted you to the role of Persephone, queen of the underworld?

When she was playing Catherine on Hulu’s The Great, Elle Fanning’s co-stars often encouraged her to do theater. Many of them had stage experience, and after watching Fanning’s Emmy-nominated turn on the show, which itself was adapted from a play, they told her she was ready. With that encouragement, and her own motivation to try the medium, Fanning accepted the offer to make her Broadway debut in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ darkly comedic family drama Appropriate this winter.
It’s her first stage experience, aside from playing Persephone in a mandatory sixth-grade school play, and she’s been learning the ropes from co-stars including Sarah Paulson and her director, Lila Neugebauer. She’s quick to admit that she’s still “extremely nervous” to act onstage, but she’s learned to welcome that feeling.

Singer-songwriter Ani Difranco will make her Broadway debut as ‘Persephone’ in the hit musical Hadestown, performing the role she originated on the 2010 studio-concept album by composer Anaïs Mitchell.
Difranco will begin performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre on February 9, 2024. The announcement was made today by producers Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold, and Tom Kirdahy.
Difranco’s history with Hadestown began when she invited Mitchell to release the original studio album of Hadestown on Difranco’s label Righteous Babe Records. Difranco originated the role of ‘Persephone’ on the album, leaving what the producers’ announcement today described as “an indelible imprint on the character as the show evolved over the course of several years.”
“I could not be more thrilled to be joining the cast of Hadestown,” Difranco said in a statement. “It’s like I get to rewind to my New York youth and follow the road not taken.”

As you may have heard, the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con International was not the usual Sdcc experience.
On July 14, the American actors’ union SAG-AFTRA joined their writing counterparts in the WGA by going on strike and picketing the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for its refusal to grant them a fair deal. Since the details of the strike preclude actors and writers from promoting their union-backed films and TV shows, many of the planned panels, promotions, and guests at Comic-Con had to bow out.
The end result was a Con that very much resembled the event’s earlier days before it became a action item on the calendar for big studios like Marvel, DC, and others to showcase their upcoming blockbusters. And you know what? It was all still pretty cool!

Changes are coming to the Greek underworld — at least as it appears on Broadway. Australian pop musician Betty Who and Tony nominee Phillip Boykin are set to take over the leading roles of Persephone and Hades, respectively, in the hit musical, Hadestown, starting Sept. 5.
The complex, fraught relationship between Persephone and Hades provides one of the two main storylines in Hadestown. In Greek mythology, Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, and Hades (technically her uncle) is allowed to abduct her and make her Queen of the Underworld. In Hadestown,...

The 1980s was a rough decade for Halston. Though it was a time full of excess, both personally and professionally, the designer was forced to reckon with the consequences of his choices, all of which came crashing down at once. (Surely, the loads of cocaine didn’t help much.)
But it was also during this time that a friend granted him a new opportunity, sparking fresh inspiration and helping him reclaim a part of himself he lost throughout all the contracts, kinks and clubbing. So, how’d it all end for Halston? Read on for highlights from the limited series’ finale.

Persephone is an action adventure feature, for fans of sci-fi. Still in early development, the film is set in the year 2185. Earth's environment is degrading and a space vessel is in search of a new home - in Alpha Centauri. Director and writer Jeffrey Morris has developed the concept through artwork, an early trailer and a concept art reel. As well, the cast includes: Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Malcolm McDowell (Halloween) and Mary-Louise Parker ("Weeds"). Some of the film's early artwork is hosted here. The logline mentions three astronauts and an alien planet. And, the synopsis talks of a damaged radiation shield, near a potential settlement. This trio will have to repair the shield. Meanwhile, an alien lifeform already inhabits this far off planet. The Visuals & Concept Art Reel is a good one. The short clip shows some of the settings, space craft and computer generated imagery. Persephone is a film with a lot of imagination.
