Juan (Pablo Chiapella) puts his house as collateral in a business and ends up losing it. His wife (Laura Romero), oblivious to this reality, continues to squander money until at the hair salon when he goes to pay with his credit card it gives him a negative. The family has to move to her parents' house, and that is when Ana finds out that they are broke. In order to get money she starts working in her parents' store: 'Plumbing and Sanitation Palomero'.
The Spanish director José Luis Garcia Berlanga is in charge of making this situational comedy "Viva la Vida". A film starring Pablo Chiapella and Laura Romero, playing a supposedly happy couple, but throughout the course of the economic crisis of "Ladrillo (Brick)" their lives begin to suffer hardship and difficulties. The plot results to be plain and simple: The family moves into his parents' house, once there, the couple will deal with the new situation in different ways: while Juan remains determined to find the business that will change everything, Ana decides to focus her efforts on the family plumbing business and on some other extra jobs. Furthermore, this feature film portrays the value of the important things in life in contrast to other problems that many families have had to go through during the last few years of economic crisis. And including an optimistic and hopeful message: that the family does not need much to live and be happy.
The cast is headed by a large number of Valencian actors and the most famous presence is the actor Pablo Chiapella (known for his participation in the series La que se avecina, Hospital Central or Capitulo 0) and the secondary actor Guillermo Montesinos who in the past worked a lot with several notorious Spanish filmmakers and especially with Luís Garcia Berlanga. In short, we are faced with a very small film, with very good intentions, it is true that it has some points that that can attract the not very demanding viewer , but in essence it is professionaly made, and entertaining enough .
The director, son of one of the masters of Spanish cinema, Luís Garcia Berlanga (El Verdugo, Bienvenido Mr Marshall, Placido, La Vaquilla) declared the following: "There are wonderful dramas, but I genetically like humor, and I think that my father's films are where this is best demonstrated." The motion picture was averagely directed by José Luis García Berlanga. He 's a decent producer/writer and director who has mainly made TV episodes of well-known series., such as: ¨Hospital central, MIR, RIS Cientifica, Sin tetas no hay paraiso, Villarriba Villabajo, Don Juan¨, and his previous feature film was the successful ¨ Barrios Altos (Uptown, 1987)¨ with Victoria Abril. Viva la vida(2019) rating: 4.5/10.
