Sirius the Jaeger shows a world of vampires and werewolves in the middle of historical Japan around the 1920s, and the culture in this story seems to ground the story into a sense of reality. Japan is out of its isolation with other countries -- allowing immigrants in -- some want peace with foreigners such as our main characters while others still distrust their presence in this land.
The first story already reverses expectations somewhat. You expect the usual casual villain as a first challenge, but you begin to realize that things aren't as clear cut as they seem. Not in the villains, but in how our characters act. They're all lovable characters -- the stoic guy who has a gentle side to him, the flamboyant yet mature action woman, the buff friendly guy who acts as the peacemaker, the tsundere kid who has some kind of violent history, and the intellectual professor who has both brains and balls. But there's more to them than you think.
While the action and the strategy pulls you in, what I love about about the show is its heart. It's a very character driven story, and the world shakes you into its foundations by placing classic wars with vampires and werewolves -- into something placed into an issue in history. On how the hatred between them isn't just out of the generic villanous reasons of power and taking over the world, but from a distrust of the outside world. The distrust of people who are different -- not because you just want to hate them for the sake of hating them -- out of anger -- but really, really about acting out of hatred from fear.
Other than the main crew, and some newer characters who come in later in the show, most of the other characters didn't get much emphasis on their development. This show wasn't supposed to be this short because there wasn't much to explore from the villains' perspective of this show, and often a good story needs much more fleshed out villains. It's a little disappointing on how it wasn't explored well enough.
But hey, still, it's a pretty good show. The characters and the worldbuilding are all deep and complex, and the shaking honesty to their emotions is a lovely sight to see.
Take a sip of this world, and maybe you'll find jewels in its majesty.

Although Sirius the Jaeger make it pretty clear that it is a original work from P.A.Works studio from the opening there is nothing remotely resembling a new idea for the vampire genre that hasn't been done countless time before so it real easy to see anime fan skip this one after 3 episodes rule but aside from the unoriginal plot and all the clichés from the characters it still a fun series with some of the best action direction I see this year and the stunning visual look of the world.

I like anime in historical eras. They are my favorite. Kenshin, Black Butler, Legend of Korra I can watch over and over again, and Sirius surprised me. I did not realize what era or read any info about it until I watched. I am hooked. The vampire/wolf story has been done many times and so has vampires/hunters, but in this story, there is something that both sides want to find. It is not just one trying to eliminate the other, but finding something to help them achieve it. I am only up to episode 7, but I cannot wait to know the outcome.
It's anime and isn't immune to clichés, but it's enjoyable. The setting and beautiful animation is worth it. But the story/plot does show promise. I think it might find its feet in season 2 (if there's one). It just needs to distinguish itself a little better,
Curiosity lead me and what i found was 50/50 to me, with a nice poster like that despite the rating i wanted to be right but no, but what the hell it served it's purpose that 1 rule behind almost every anime 'love' that's the main driving force here so yeah u just have to live with it.
This might not be as good as other vampire Anime like Castlevania. However I review based on enjoyment. The show is very good and has some of the more bad a$$ fights and kills I've seen. If you like an action, blood and vampires. Check this show out. I give it ten as this is my perfect anime. Also go watch Castvania.

A fun action anime with cool character designs but not much for plot of character development. Overall a fun watch if you need a show on Netflix to casually watch
I was very surprised by the anime. It's not as good as castelvania, but still impressive. The animation is great, the fight scenes are badass, the story doesn't drag or have dumb filler. The pacing is on point, and the characters are deep, highly recommend this.

In 1930, a strange group of people marched through the Tokyo train station. They all carried a tool case and were known as "Hunters" because they hunt vampires. Among all these people is a young man named Yuliy, a werewolf whose village was destroyed by the vampires. Together they wage a fierce battle over a sacred object, the Ark of Sirius. But what is it all about and who will win the fight in the end?
I can only agree with the reviews published here so far.
The series doesn't reinvent the wheel, but tells a more or less interesting story, which is accompanied by good animation and good characterization.

I binged this, as I do with most programmes, at a pacing of about 3 episodes per day. It's been 1-2 months since I watched the final episode and my thoughts are this: I don't remember a damn thing about this show. I don't remember who the protagonist is, I don't remember the antogonists, I don't really remember the plot, which does not bode well for my review.
From what I can remember, there's vampires and vampire hunters, and this 'Jaegar' really doesn't like Vampires due to something that happened to him as a child... I think.
I must have somewhat enjoyed the series as I watched it the whole way through, however, having so little memory of anything significant about the show is damning. Perhaps give it a watch to fill some time, but don't expect it will leave any lasting impression on you.

Loved this anime , literally love to watch more, it would b a waste if they dont continue the series and it will break my heart.
I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews. I really enjoyed it. I'm on break waiting for some new episodes to come and came across this. I haven't watched a good vampire show in a while. I really hope they keep it going!

Plot and character development are a lot too predictable. It's just really about vampire hunters hunting vampires which there's nothing more it can offer. The only positive thing about it is the gorgeous animation unlike any modern anime I watch....

The story is very good I'll give it that. Quite good actually. It is the rest that brings it down.
The voice acting is way bad and very melodramatic. At times it's difficult to watch because the voice work is so Cliche' and heinous. Then there is the artwork and animation. It's just bad. No, flair or originality, no distinct style. Just drab boring style and design coupled with almost stagnant and stiff compumation. Such a shame, it could have been wonderful but fails way to much for other reasons.

I was entertained the whole way through and binged all 12 episodes in one night!! The goth vampires and gore galore was awesome and I loved every character they threw at me! Definitely worth a watch if you have a free day, I recommend binge watching 👌🏻

This anime had a lot of potential and I was really excited to watch it but it quickly loses it's footing only 3 episodes in. The show as far as I know isn't based of any preexisting material but instead straight to anime. The start of the show is amazing, I'm not going to lie, it starts off with a fun plot and a lot of mystery that will be explored but it fails to deliver on any of it! It failed to have a solid plot line, failed to explain a lot of introduced concepts, failed to pace concepts, failed to actually give a good story. It truly felt like someone attempted to shove 5 seasons and a movie special of a show into a handful of episodes.

This anime has a strong plot and wonderfully unique and quirky characters with amazing fast-paced fight scenes and very powerful scenes with a nice balance of humour, sadness and emotions with constant gorgeous animation quality and style, Just binged watched the entire season and 100% do not regret it. Best anime ever, I recommend to everyone!!!
More bad anime churned out by netflix with what appears to be no structure or editing in the writing. Do not bother.
I strongly recommend this anime...if you love some vampire hunters, some mature content, like violence, brutal things then you like it it's not childish anime those running all these days..good and unique plot with great art and actions..
Imperial Capital, 1930. A strange group of people carrying musical instrument cases landed on Tokyo station. They are called the "Jaegers", who came to hunt vampires. Amongst them, there stood a young man with striking serenity and unusual aura. His name is Yuliy, a werewolf whose home village was destroyed by vampires. Yuliy and the Jaegers engage in deadly battle over a mysterious holy arc only known as "The Arc of Sirius". What truth awaits them at the end...?
Well as it another series which had Khoi Dao as the lead character and had similar pretenses to Sword Gai i thought i was going to have the same out come but I was wrong. Since Yuliy is more of a likeable character than Gai and Reiko is not annoying like Sayaka was.
Story wise it was very interesting but sad at the same time.
If you are looking for a good horror/murder mystery anime I would strongly recomand this. Episode dubbed and subbed are available on Netflix.
