A movie with poker theme, so I think it would be interesting, like watching WSOP tournament, but the poker itself only maybe around 20 percent of the movie. The poker tournament is not like a poker tournament in this movie.
If you hope to watch a poker movie like watching WSOP tournament, don't watch this movie. The dramatic scene it too much compared to the poker scene.

This movie reminds me if Quentin Tarantino decided to make a movie as bad as possible. Writing was trash, acting was even worse.
Story is not good. Exposition is thrown in everywhere in awkward, clunky ways. I enjoy 90% of movies I watch, and this definitely falls into the latter. I can't think of a single redeeming quality of this movie. Not one. Do not watch it.

I made a user profile, just to warn you about this movie. I almost poked my eyes out during the movie, and after I wanted to jump in front of a train og drink lava to ease my internal pain.
I only lasted 15 mins into this film as the acting was so bad, the timing and dialogue was very unnatural, even the actors cadence felt like they were reading from the script to each other for the first time. The lead actor was like a poor mans Shia LaBeouf and I just got bored with the film in general as it just felt way too linear and amateur.
"Danny's Game" is an intense thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The film, directed by a masterful storyteller, seamlessly weaves together elements of suspense, drama, and unexpected twists. The protagonist, Danny, brilliantly portrayed by the lead actor, delivers a captivating performance that adds depth and authenticity to the character. The plot unfolds with a perfect balance of mystery and revelation, leaving viewers guessing until the very end.
The cinematography is a standout aspect of the movie, with each frame meticulously crafted to enhance the overall atmosphere. The use of lighting and shadows adds a layer of tension, contributing to the film's gripping and ominous tone. The soundtrack complements the narrative, intensifying key moments and elevating the emotional impact.
The supporting cast is commendable, with each actor bringing their A-game to the table. The character dynamics are well-developed, and the chemistry among the cast members is palpable. The screenplay is tight, with sharp dialogue that propels the story forward while revealing essential nuances of the characters.
"Danny's Game" successfully navigates the delicate balance between psychological thriller and character-driven drama. It tackles thought-provoking themes and raises questions about morality, justice, and the consequences of one's actions. The pacing is spot-on, maintaining a brisk tempo without sacrificing the depth of the narrative.
In summary, "Danny's Game" is a cinematic triumph that captivates audiences with its compelling storyline, stellar performances, and impeccable craftsmanship. It's a must-watch for anyone seeking a riveting cinematic experience that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll.

Some pretty funny moments no doubt.
It's definitely a low budget film. I like the cinematography the best.
The little girl does a pretty great job especially.
Interesting take on the poker scene. If you don't enjoy it, just make a drinking game out of everytime the lead actors looks into the camera

Lots of negative reviews so hopefully I can offer a different perspective.
If you go into this movie expecting a high bankroll blockbuster, you'll be disappointed. If you go into it expecting a high-quality art-house film that suddenly becomes a blockbuster after a come from nowhere major award, you'll be disappointed.
If you go into this knowing that it's a low budget, local, indie movie that also happens to be Ungaretti's debut as a leading man and writer, you will be entertained. Could the writing be better? Of course! Could the acting be better? Also a yes. Exactly what you'd expect from this type of film - people that are passionate about making a film and are putting their heart into it. Let them not be perfect and enjoy this film for what it is. The goal of a drama like this is to entertain the viewer and for me, it certainly succeeded in that respect.

DANNY'S GAME blends both its playful and serious sides well, making for an enjoyable and engaging watch. Over the course of the runtime, we get to meet a number of charismatic bad guys, all populating the small underworld of criminals in Danny's circle. The supporting actors seem to relish bringing out the idiosyncrasies in their characters, and this makes them fun to watch as Danny moves from one to the next, letting details to the plot unfold naturally with each new stop.
Danny is also, by all respects, a bad guy by traditional definition. I stayed in his corner because the movie balances enlightening backstory breadcrumbs with a charismatic performance from the lead, which let me see him in a forgivable light. I was rooting for Danny in spite of some of his words, actions and spouted philosophies.
DANNY'S GAME shares DNA with the Ocean's movies, Matchstick Men, and Rounders: The characters in these films do things society deems bad, but their outlaw style is romantic and fun to experience vicariously, and the same goes for Danny and his plight.
I particularly liked the visual look of this movie - the angles and color were sharp and confidently executed - and the performance from lead actor, Joshua Ungaretti, who provides an unexpected honesty to the looks he gives and the lines he delivers.
Witty, funny, well written dialogue.
Don't tell *me* you need a big budget to enjoy this story. This is an indie film that still keeps you hooked and entertained. Really enjoyed it.

"Danny's Game" is an absolute masterpiece! From start to finish, the film captivates with its brilliant plot twists and compelling character development. The performances are top-notch, especially the lead actor who brings an incredible depth to his role. The cinematography is stunning, and the soundtrack perfectly complements the intense narrative. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, blending drama, suspense, and emotion seamlessly. It's a must-watch for anyone who loves a well-crafted story. Highly recommend! One of my favorite movies to date. Josh is an incredible film writer. Incredible movie I will be watching again.
I've read all the reviews and expected it to be a flop but I truly enjoyed it! The story line was great! All the actors played their roles well. I dug up what info I could on each actor and didn't expect much but Josh Ungaretti nailed the part. He's truly an undiscovered talent waiting to explode all over the movie scene. From the intimate moments to the thrills, this film will deliver everything expected and more. I strongly urge everyone to take a gander. The story line seemed to be lacking at first but quickly became very robust as the film played on. If your looking for a good film hitting all the angle watch this film. Thanks for listening.
