Madhuri Dixit and Inder Kumar were signed for the film but later opted out. Rajeshwar replaced Inder Kumar. Madhuri left because she was getting married.
Juhi Chawla and Manisha Koirala also rejected the lead role.
Dev Anand's second elderly role after the 1984 film Anand Aur Anand. He stars opposite Indrani Bannerjee who is the playing the role of mother and daughter .
The film is completed and unreleased due to financial problems.
Kamini Kaushal was introduced in year 1946 by Chetan Anand in his first film Neeche Nagar. After about 50 years later Kamini Kaushal also acted in the film of Chetan Anand's younger brothers, Dev and Vijay Anand in their last film Jaana Na Dil Se Door.
