This French series is set in Le Havre; a child psychologist is called in when a three and a half year old boy, Malone, claims that his parents aren't his real parents. Believing the child he contacts Captain Marianne Aubrais, a detective in the local police. She is busy with a serious case involving a robbery which left one officer and two thieves, dead and another two criminals being looked for. She agrees to look into the psychologist's claims as he believes Malone will soon lose his memories of his real mother.
I enjoyed this series; it started with an intriguing idea and developed it nicely. Inevitably there were some clichés but others were nicely avoided in ways I didn't expect. The characters were interesting and mostly sympathetic... the villain however was suitably villainous. The cast was solid; most notably Anne Charrier, who was great as Marianne; Pascal Elbé, as her friend and colleague Papy; and Emmanuel Bonami as the villain Zerda. Young Tom d'Ornano really impressed as Malone. Local settings were nicely incorporated into the story as Malone talks of seeing a castle and a wrecked pirate ship which turn out to be landmarks adapted for a child's imagination. At just six episodes the series doesn't drag on, neither does it feel rushed. Overall I'd certainly recommend this to anybody who enjoys crime dramas and is looking for something a little different.

The kid carried the entire series in his eyes. He was so good and portrayed the emotions so nicely.

I really can't say if the French police would operate this way. Interesting, novel, good story telling. Good characters. Excellent ensemble cast, with likeable actors, realistic, and a villain to hate. As always, loved the French flavor and Landscape. Not Paris. Contemporary, there is more in common with the USA, including dress. Lots of twists and turns. Yes, some you can see coming; but the story has to come out of the events, Some of it dragged a little, but lots of action. there were a few very sad events. It ended on warm happy notes.
Also, they spoke a correct French, so I could understand them. No mumbling, no Parisian slang, or city gutter dialects. I think the actors were very natural.

Only two reviews here in English for another excellent French coastal cop drama. Truly nothing to complain about, excellent cast, has a great look, good plot, action aplenty, intriguing back stories etc etc. Up there with Spiral and Braquo. I really hope that like those series MAT gets at least one more go around for this very engaging cop crew!

Great premise that was well handled. The acting was excellent, especially the young fellow who played Mason. As others have said, it wasn't dragged out and 6 episodes were perfect.

This is a great story that you cant stop watching until last scene. The boy who was casted for Malone was wonderful!
Waste of time for one season.why does all 4 bother putting dramas up that are only one season ?!
