What to think of a child aged 3 and a half, Malone, who claims one day that his mother isn't his mother? Vasile, the school psychologist, chooses to believe him and contacts detective inspector Marianne Augresse. Despite working full-time to solve a brutal robbery, she agrees to listen to him.

Marianne and her men are back on the trail of Timo Soler, still on the run after the robbery in Deauville. They mount an operation to try to corner him.

Marianne meets Malone for the first time. Zerda, probably the one who organised the robbery, is becoming increasingly threatening.

Devastated by the death of Vasile, Marianne decides to go back over the investigation into Malone's story, right from the beginning.

Marianne and her teams realise that there is a link between the investigation into what Malone remembers and that into the robbery. But what exactly is the link?
