At its core, "Insiders" is a film about what it means to be human. Being a human creature with its strengths and weaknesses, its dreams and fears, its love and hate. The film invites us inside not only the physical space of a prison but also, inside a man's soul, his mind, his body. Unlike Jean-Paul Sartre who dooms his characters to a lifetime of suffering in his existentialist play "Huis clos," Huseyin Karabey steps on Melih Cevdet Anday's eponymous play to show that there is a way to transcend human suffering. Ultimately, "Insiders" is a story of faith, hope and integrity, which grips you tightly only to let you go completely free.
