Hyderabad, April 20 (Ians) Income Tax (I-t) officials continued searches at the offices of Telugu film production company, Mythri Movie Makers in Hyderabad for a second consecutive day on Thursday.

A team of I-t officials from New Delhi were also searching the residence of Sukumar, who directed movies like ‘Pushpa’, ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Arya’.

The I-t officials continued to search residences of Mythri Movie Makers promoters, including Erneni Naveen, Cherukuri Mohan, and Yalamanchili Ravishankar in Jubilee Hills.

The officials were checking records of their financial transactions for allegedly breaking investment regulations by bringing in funds from abroad for the second time in less than four months after December 2022.

The production house is suspected to have funnelled funds from abroad and invested in Tollywood to produce several films.

The I-t raids are happening at a time when the production house and Sukumar are engaged in the shooting of Allu Arjun-starrer ‘Pushap-2’.

Actor Vijay Deverakonda's new yet-untitled Telugu film with director Puri Jagannadh went on the floors here on Monday.

The project, which is rumoured to be titled "Fighter", marks the maiden collaboration of Vijay and Puri Jagannadh.

Puri Jagannadh, an erstwhile associate of Ram Gopal Varma, is known for films such as "Pokkiri", "Businessman" and "Temper". He even directed the Hindi film "Bbudadh Hoga Tera Baap" featuring Amitabh Bachchan. His last release was Telugu action thriller "ISmart Shankar", which went on to be a box-office hit.

The film will feature Vijay, for the first time in his career, in an out-and-out action-packed character. The film will be high on action, sources have revealed.

Deverakonda will play a character with stutter. Over the last few weeks, he underwent training in mixed martial arts in Thailand for this project.

The pre- and post-interval halves of the new Vijay Deverakonda starrer Dear Comrade are like two different films. And that’s not a bad thing at all. Not in this case. For, what the schizophrenic saga tells us about human nature and its gamboling shifts of perspective is far more valuable than the concept of consistency that we seek in art and seldom find in real life.

The first half of Dear Comrade builds on Deverekonda’s Arjun Reddy image of a young hotblooded man in serious need of anger management. Unlike Arjun, Bobby in this film is a rebel with a cause. The director creates a believable construct of an impending destruction that comes to those who care too much about what goes in the world to notice that their own life is coming undone.

Filmmaker Karan Johar has clarified that no lead actors have been considered or approached for the Hindi remake of Telugu film Dear Comrade.

Several reports doing the rounds suggested that Karan Johar will be signing actors Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor in the Hindi remake.
