Aurélien Molas was inspired by a news item that occurred in Port Leucat (France): a couple had lent their house to friends in difficulty. Once back from vacation with their motorhome, they discover their villa transformed into an entrenched camp to prevent them from accessing it. During the preparation and the shooting of the film, two other squat stories of this type took place, including one in Garges-les-Gonesses (France). Mobilized by social networks, several residents had intervened to evacuate the squatters.
