Originally, My Monster was not going to be a Christmas-themed film. Even though it was shot not long after Halloween, the location was trussed out in full Christmas regalia -- so much that it would have proved a huge hassle to remove and put everything back, including two big Christmas trees. So they decided to keep the free production design and My Monster became a holiday horror film.

...at the first sigh. For humor. Who, at the new view, becomes a not bad form of irony about relations, dreams, price of cuddles and the conflict between men and women. And , sure, the solution. A good short horror not for obvious virtues but for idea. And for the manner to use it. A couple, a monster and a sort of humor giving a seductive lesson about expectations, selfishness and the right choice. And the "enemy" front to the door.
