When Teiji takes the two photos out of the drying plate they are face up. They would be face down in reality, the face of the photos in contact with the steel plate which glazes them as they dry.
Close-up photos shown as supposedly taken with the Olympus OM-1 with Zuiko 50mm lens would not show features as were shown in the rendered photographs. Such a short focal length would markedly distort features closer to the lens because the depth-of-field is unable to reproduce anything such as was shown. In order to be as were shown, a longer focal length is used such as a 135mm or longer telephoto which has sufficient depth-of-field to render a portrait without distortion of closer features.
There were no DNA tests in 1989 (when the movie is taking place). So its not possible to identify the victim as Lily by a DNA test.
