The movie started with great pace and promise, but it slowed down towards the middle. It even felt like it was going in reverse at one point! Many of the characters were not thoroughly fleshed out, particularly the main character's parents. No way would they have been so rah-rah supportive, in such a short amount of time, of their son's newly found freedom.

To make characters this unlikable. Not sure if the casting, the writing, the editing, the directing or a combination of them all made this movie so bad. The lead is supposed to have a high IQ? Not believable. This movie missed its mark on so many levels. It really could have been an inspirational, funny and entertaining movie however it just emphasizes how sh!tty entitled teens can be. Oh and the music? So annoying!
A 3 for the romance, a 2 for the comedy and a little bit more for the score. the actors are good at talking, but not stalking.
its just one of those senior high movie-stuff, not as crazy and stupid as the main stream romcom, but it doesnt reach deep into your heart. its like booksmart, everything happens within 24 hours, and its like''the last nigt of the pranks''.
it has a story of love and happiness, but it doesnt fondle above the knee of what the grumpy old man holds as a standard for these kind of movies. so if you like to learn some high school anarchistic pranks, then be my guest, for the rest its for the rainy sunday afternoon. a weak 6.

First of all, the protagonist of this movie, Brett is a teenager who have it all: happy family, big house with pool, car and almost every privilege a person would dream of. And yet he doesn't feel blessed but pressured. Yeah, you read it right, pressured.
So, this movie is all about a spoiled teenager who thinks he is the most suffering person in the world. He abandoned all, yeah and when I mean all, it was all. His parents's support and hope for him, his education and his well being. For what?! For something he called happiness. Well Brett, you might as well watch the first 5 minutes of Will Smith's The Pursuit of Happiness to know what happiness is.
And my advice for those who haven't watched this movie, just skip it, it's better to watch The Pursuit of Happiness instead.

This movie is so terrible that I made an IMDB account for the sole purpose of rating it one star. There are no lessons to be learned from this movie, besides the lesson that movies like this shouldn't be funded, created, celebrated, or shared. If you are above the age of 14, this movie is a waste of your time and a disgrace to our society. If you are between the ages of 10-14, this movie will turn your brain into a can of worms.

I can see what the movie was trying to get to.
During the movie I rated 1 but because of the ending it gets the current score.
Comedy but irresponsible for the freak accident and juvenile pranks but good ending.

Taking "What if ferries Bueller had been a straight A student" and rolling the F it List is a fun comfort watch for any young adult. Eli Brown's performance of Brett carries the film and makes up the supporting characters performances.
The plot reflects every gen z'ers fantasy of going wild and blowing up on social media. At some point the writing can slack but it only slightly takes away from the overall story. Some b plots are underdeveloped (Kayla's boyfriend? ex? friend?) and there are several corny moments throughout the movie but it is an otherwise good movie.

I wanted to like this movie, I did. The main character Just so hard to like... he is obnoxious and entitled like your typical gen z. He doesn't apologize or take responsibility for messing up, values social media fame over getting an education. Watch something else!

This film interesting as it presented mental input from a 17 y o perspective. Combined with the additional perspective of how social media drives young people these days, it was thought provoking in its presentation. when you watch a film like this, you know what your watching going on It delivers that
Brilliant story about a guy, who found everything ready in life, got bored and blew everything just to have fun...
Let's just change the characters. Instead of rich white guy with wealthy parents, put a hardworking kid from the poor family.. Will he behave the same way? Easy to go wild when you drive fathers' Mercedes and live in the huge house with the pool. Screw it! Let's go crazy, not care about people, environment and other things, let's burn books, schools and other thing.
Millions of kids nowadays do not have even access to schools and sharing books as treasures. So I do not really understand the message of this movie, especially during this crisis we are going through now.
I'm 18, I watched the movie yesteday and it was perfect. This movie is not for someone who already know what is going todo with his life. The message of the movie, the true one not the superficial ones that all the people are criticize: the money one or the swonflake that we are. This movie try to say that we look for or true future not the one that we are suppose to do. Okay, it's not easy, not alll the people can do it because of the money but, at least you have to know what do you really want to do and if you have the change, do it. That's what this movie is about. It has problems, cliches and there are only room for the main character more or less but, it entreteins and send a messege, an important one in my opinion.

This is the story of a very talented boy who does one mistake and ruins his future. However, some other doors open after this disaster. I liked this innovative story. There were plenty of different locations in the movie which made it interesting for me. I saw nice acting from Eli Brown. This comedy is well-made. Also, like most of the comedy movies, it has an important lesson to learn. In my opinion, the movie has a novice ending. In summary, I recommend this movie to comedy fans, especially high schoolers.

The movie goes to show that if you are rich you can get away with anything.
More importantly, characters evolve from bland to plain nonsensical. These characters take pride in their lack of self reflection. Imagine jean ralphio from parks and recreation.
Do yourself a favour and just watch something else.

This film had so many ideas, it just struggled to execute them all effectively.
It's overall premise, sounds like a good movie before you even sit down.
In theory it should have worked.
For me 2 key areas let this movie down and stop it from reaching the heights it should have.
1) The soundtrack. It was completely off. Where u should have been hearing an upbeat R & B song to bring energy to a scene, you hear a dull and repetitive pop song. Where you should have heard an energetic and uplifting track, you hear a depressing indie tune. It just sucks the life out of key parts of the film and doesn't make sense.
2) The pace. It takes far too long to get to The List. The pace is all over the place in this movie and makes it, at times a difficult watch.
All in all I think that the cast do a good job of selling the story. Madison iseman stands out as one of the leads. Jerry O'Connell and Natalie Zea light up and improve every scene that they are in.
It's just not enough. A good premise is offset by poor pacing and odd soundtrack changes. With a bigger budget and a more focused approach, this could have been a much better movie.
